Metsville Daily - 4/30/2006
The Mets lost in Atlanta in a really ugly 8-5 loss. Steve Trachsel got lit up early, giving up 6 runs in 3 2/3 inning. Kyle Davies continued his mastery over the Mets—sort of. He gave up 3 runs in 5 innings, including a homer to Beltran. The Mets couldn’t sweep the Braves in Atlanta, but they would have been happy going into the series coming out with two out of three.
The Tides got shelled. Down 8-0, they scratched out a few runs to make it look respectable, 8-4. Jason Scobie gave up all 8 runs, while Mike Smith of Rochester didn’t give up a run. Terry Tiffee hit a 2 run homerun in the first to start the carnage. Sandy Martinez hit a 2 run homer in the ninth, ending a 10 game dinger drought for the Tides.
Binghamton and St. Lucie both won their games, so looks like its splitsville in Metsville today.
